Introduction
Much has been written about the management of online communities, but rather less about the management of ecosystems of connected communities.
Each group has a purpose, each group has a membership and each group has a real world analog of its digital presence.
Online communities typically draw their members from a geographically diverse population. Sometimes this is restricted to a single organization, and sometimes it is open for anyone to join. An ecosystem of communities supports a population that has a range of interests and needs.
Supporting this ecosystem of communities can be considered Community Management as a Service.
